Networking specialist Brenda Eckstein recently hosted a function at Comrades House to give her clients an “inside” look at the Comrades Marathon Association. The function included a tour of the museum and presentations by Peter Proctor (Chairman), Dave Dixon (Past Chairman) and Gary Boshoff (General Manager). The presentations were inspiring and gave an insight into what makes the organisation and its people so special. The Comrades is arguably the greatest ultra marathon in the world and attracts athletes from all over the world. The Comrades Marathon Association aims to achieve its vision through world-class race organization, administration, customer service and innovation, while acknowledging the rich heritage of the Comrades Marathon.
The organisation underwent restructuring to ensure its sustainability and is staffed by a dedicated group of employees and volunteers. They have a strong focus in giving back to the community and this is done through donations to charities and establishing clubs in disadvantaged communities.
